Young Alum SIG 08-06-08

Come join us on the evening of August 6th at 6:30 pm to have a picnic and watch the sunset at Corona Del Mar State Beach.

Since parking is somewhat limited, I encourage you to carpool if at all possible. Parking is free on top of the hill, or you can park down by the beach for a minimal charge (if you carpool, you can all help pitch in for this cost).

Make sure to bring a beach towel (or two), folding chairs if you prefer, frisbee's and anything else beach appropriate. Please also bring something to share for the group whether store bought or homemade. Ideas would include:
* items to make sandwhiches (bread, lettuce, deli meats, cheese, etc.)
* drinks (preferably cans, juice boxes, bottled water, etc.)
* snacks (chips, dip, veggies, cold pasta salad, etc.)
* treats (cookies, brownies, etc.)

Just to make sure we have a variety of items, when you RSVP include what you will be bringing.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the beach!

Any questions contact Veronica Del Castillo at roni53@hotmail.com

July Event 07-13-08

Picnic and concert in the park starting at 4:15 pm.

Golden State British Brass will be performing at Huntington Central Park!
(Corner of Goldenwest & Talbert)

Bring your own picnic, which can be as simple as picking up fast food of your choice. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Come alone or with family or friends.

Park (free) at the Huntington Beach Central Library. Walk behind the library and look for the bandstand and a small flag.

Surely a "concert in the park" is on your summer to do list, and Huntington Central Park is beautiful and sure to be breezy at this time in the late afternoon. The Golden State British Brass will provide an enjoyable musical journey to Great Britain with a program of traditional British style brass band music.

Convention June 2008

The 83rd National Convention was held at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa, located in Indian Wells, California, June 25-June 29. The Esmeralda Resort was a beautiful location fit to meet Sigma Kappa Sorority's needs to make this another great Convention.

Many of our group attended the Sigma Kappa Convention and were excited to receive the Patricia Carlin Smith Award (working with collegiate chapter), Public Relations Award, Triangle Award, and Alumnae Panhellenic Award.
